Startup Syria has announced the winners of its 2026 Entrepreneurship Awards in Damascus, recognizing startups, entrepreneurs and organizations supporting Syria’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. BeeOrder was named Best Startup, while SYNC received the Organization of the Year Award, as Global Entrepreneurship Week concluded with more than 180 events across the country.
The awards ceremony, organized by Startup Syria in cooperation with Syria’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, took place on November 5, bringing together entrepreneurs, startup founders and ecosystem organizations.
BeeOrder won the Best Startup Award, while SYNC was recognized as Organization of the Year. Fadi Amroush received the Community Enabler of the Year Award, and Abdul Wahab Omeira was named Entrepreneur of the Year. Naya Al-Hamad and Farah Al-Tal shared the Community Entrepreneurs Award.
The winners were selected based on criteria including innovation, technology adoption, organizational development, sustainability and impact on local communities and the labor market. The evaluation also considered how projects address challenges in sectors such as education, technology and economic development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdulsalam Haykal highlighted entrepreneurship’s role in Syria’s economic recovery and efforts to rebuild the country’s business environment.
Haykal said the government is developing a national entrepreneurship agenda and preparing draft legislation for startups in cooperation with several ministries and institutions. The proposed measures aim to improve the regulatory environment and support the establishment and growth of new businesses.
He also acknowledged ongoing challenges facing Syrian entrepreneurs, including limited access to financing and insurance, legal restrictions and the need to rebuild relationships with international investors and financial institutions.
The awards marked the conclusion of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2026 in Syria, which featured more than 180 events across over 33 cities and attracted more than 7,000 participants, according to organizers.
Held under the theme “Entrepreneurs Thrive Here,” the activities focused on connecting founders with mentors, supporting early-stage businesses and strengthening the country’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
This was Syria’s second consecutive year participating in Global Entrepreneurship Week at the national level, following its first nationwide edition in 2025.
Founded in 2013, Startup Syria supports entrepreneurs and startup founders through networking, mentorship and collaboration with organizations and business professionals in Syria and among Syrian communities abroad.
