The first Syria Travel 2026 Forum has opened in Damascus, bringing together tourism authorities, investors and companies from the travel, hospitality, aviation and technology sectors.
Organised by event company Mangosteen and digital marketing firm SO Media, the forum will run through September 30 at the Dama Rose Hotel. Its programme includes an exhibition, conference, startup programme and networking activities focused on business opportunities, investment and partnerships in Syria’s tourism sector.
The event features 34 exhibitors and 43 speakers from 14 countries, with more than 1,300 visitors recorded on its first day, according to Mangosteen chief Malik Shashtawi. He said the forum aims to support Syria’s return to the tourism map and attract foreign investment and international companies interested in developing the sector.
Tourism Minister Mazen al-Salehani said participants include airlines, travel agencies, tour guides and new booking applications for hotels, restaurants and cars. He also said the ministry is working to activate electronic payments through Visa and Mastercard.
The forum follows Syria’s participation in the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai from September 14 to 17, where it presented tourism and investment opportunities.
