Taptap Send has launched its cross-border money transfer services in Bahrain after receiving a Payment Service Provider licence from the Central Bank of Bahrain.

The announcement was made during Fintech Forward 2026, held on 7–8 October at Exhibition World Bahrain. Bahrain is the company’s second Gulf Cooperation Council market after the UAE, where Taptap Send said its early customer response had exceeded expectations.

Through its platform, customers in more than 35 countries can send money to recipients across more than 90 destination markets, according to the company.

Michael Faye, CEO and co-founder of Taptap Send, said the licence supports the company’s regional expansion and reflects its commitment to Bahrain’s financial services ecosystem.

Dalal Buhejji, executive director of business development for financial services at the Bahrain Economic Development Board, said the launch would support the development of cross-border payments and contribute to Bahrain’s fintech ecosystem.

The Bahrain launch follows Taptap Send’s receipt of three licences from the Central Bank of the UAE covering stored value facilities, retail payment services and exchange business.
