Techne Summit Alexandria 2026 has opened at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, bringing together startups, entrepreneurs, investors, technology companies and organisations supporting Egypt’s innovation ecosystem. The summit runs through October 5.

The event is held under the patronage of Egypt’s ministries of Communications and Information Technology, Investment and Foreign Trade, and Finance. Meta, the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and Startup Egypt are strategic partners.

Organisers said the summit aims to attract more than 45,000 participants, including startups, talent, investors, accelerators, incubators and ecosystem supporters. This year’s Alexandria edition focuses on the “Start” phase of the entrepreneurial journey, with an emphasis on early-stage companies, founders and students.

The programme covers fintech, healthtech, education, e-commerce, investment, the creative economy, gaming, sports technology, logistics, cleantech, climate innovation and corporate innovation.

Startup competitions are a major part of the summit. The Cairo and Alexandria editions together offer more than $1M in prizes and potential investment opportunities, alongside over 90 workshops, one-on-one mentoring sessions, investor meetings and partnership opportunities.

The first day also features the SANAD ElevateHer Regional Competition for promising women-led startups from MENA and sub-Saharan Africa.
