Careem Reports $241M Revenue and $122M Operating Loss in H1 2026

Careem generated approximately $241 million in revenue during the first half of 2026, while its operating loss widened to $122 million, according to financial statements released by Abu Dhabi-based e&.

Revenue rose 20% year on year, while the operating loss increased 28%, equivalent to an average monthly loss of about $20 million. The figures provide the first detailed public view of Careem’s consumer services business, which includes food delivery, groceries, payments and other digital services, separate from its ride-hailing operations.

The disclosure followed e&’s decision to classify Careem as a discontinued operation after agreeing to sell Uber a 12.5% stake for $100 million in June. The transaction reduced e&’s ownership from 50.03% to 37.53% and restored Uber as the majority shareholder with a 62.47% stake.

The results highlight the cost of scaling a diversified digital platform across MENA. While Careem’s consumer business continues to grow, its financial performance shows that expanding across multiple services still requires substantial investment.
