Tunisia’s Ministry of Family, Women, Children and Older People is launching “Raedat,” a green helpline offering guidance and support for women pursuing entrepreneurship. The service will be available at 1810 from Friday.

The helpline is intended to help aspiring entrepreneurs access reliable information, technical advice and practical guidance throughout the business journey, from developing an idea to the period after launch, according to the ministry.

The announcement was made during an event on women in rural areas, held at the Higher School of Agriculture in Mograne, Zaghouan, to mark International Rural Women’s Day. The event was organised by the Centre of Research, Studies, Documentation and Information on Women in Zaghouan.

The ministry said its national “Raedat” programme for women’s entrepreneurship and investment has helped create more than 6,400 women-led projects, backed by over TND 63 million. The projects span agro-food industries, crafts, services, value-chain development and environmental resources.

The ministry also plans to expand training, support and marketing spaces for women and girls in rural areas, while improving access to national and international markets for their products.
