Libyan fashion designer Ibrahim Al-Shaibani has won the Creative Entrepreneurship Talent Award at the second edition of the Arab Fashion Award, announced by the Arab World Institute in Paris.
The award recognises Al-Shaibani’s work through his fashion label, Born in Exile, which draws on Libya’s cultural and historical heritage while using contemporary design, craftsmanship and sustainable practices.
The brand reinterprets traditional references through modern silhouettes, bold colours, geometric elements and layered designs. Its approach focuses on creating a lasting identity rather than following short-term seasonal trends.
Al-Shaibani’s win highlights the growing visibility of Arab creative talent and the potential of Libyan designers to build work that connects local identity with international fashion audiences.
