Ajman-headquartered Islamic digital bank ruya has partnered with Dubai-based AI company Magure to build what it describes as an AI-native bank, with three agentic AI use cases now live in production.
The systems support business account onboarding through document analysis, verification and case summaries, as well as other transaction workflows. A human reviewer remains involved in every decision, according to the announcement.
Built on Magure’s MagOneAI platform, the capability runs inside ruya’s private cloud using open-source large language models. The bank said personal data does not leave its infrastructure and that it retains ownership of the underlying AI.
Rather than managing separate AI projects, ruya has deployed a single governance layer across the bank. The approach is designed to support transparency, human oversight and consumer protection in line with the Central Bank of the UAE’s expectations for responsible AI in licensed financial institutions.
The roadmap includes AI applications for collections, compliance, credit support, customer assistance, personalisation and analytics. The bank also plans an internal employee assistant, plus RuyaAI, grounded in its own knowledge base.
ruya launched in 2024 and serves individuals, entrepreneurs and small businesses. Magure said it has more than 80 enterprise customers and over 60 AI deployments in production.
