Bridging the Digital Gap for Parents

The partnership aims to equip families, creators, and schools with the knowledge needed to create safer online experiences for children and teenagers. It aligns with the UAE’s “Year of the Family 2026,” a national initiative to strengthen family bonds and societal values.

The collaboration will work to protect young users from digital risks and harmful content by encouraging responsible use of social media platforms. It will highlight Instagram’s protection and parental supervision tools, including features designed specifically for teen accounts and new AI-powered age verification technologies.

Inside the ‘Parents Assembly with Instagram’

As its first major initiative, Creators HQ and Meta will host the “Parents Assembly with Instagram.” The event is designed to support parents in building healthier relationships between their children and social media.

The assembly will feature experts from Meta and bring together more than 50 content creators who specialize in family-focused content. Key topics will include protecting teenagers from inappropriate content, enhancing privacy, and empowering parents to use available monitoring tools. The program will also feature panel discussions addressing the challenges of parenting in the digital age.

Moon Baz, Director of Global Partnerships for Africa, the Middle East, and Türkiye at Meta, emphasized the company’s focus on user well-being.

“At Meta, we are committed to easing the burden on parents by providing effective tools that enable them to supervise their children’s digital experiences,” said Baz. “Through our partnership with Creators HQ, we are empowering families and content creators to understand and use these tools to build a safer digital experience for their teens.”

Hussein Al Atoli, Director of the New Media Academy, noted the UAE’s leadership in fostering a safe digital environment.

“We seek to equip families with the knowledge and tools needed to protect their children in the digital world through these impactful initiatives, while strengthening a culture of conscious and responsible social media use,” he stated.
