Yango Group, a global technology company, is moving into public transport technology with the launch of an AI-powered management platform. Announced from Dubai, the new solution provides a unified interface combining real-time data and operational tools, designed to help transport authorities tackle complex urban mobility challenges.
Quick Facts
- AI-powered platform for public transport management.
- Aims to cut traffic jams by up to 28%.
- Integrates with the Yango SuperApp for passengers.
Tackling Urban Transport Inefficiencies
In many cities, public transport remains one of the least digitized areas of urban infrastructure. Authorities and operators often work with fragmented systems, which contributes to congestion, unreliable services, and operational inefficiencies. A 2025 INRIX Global Traffic Scorecard noted that congestion increased in 62% of urban areas globally, underscoring the growing need for more intelligent transport management.
An AI-Driven Approach to Urban Mobility
The new platform focuses on three key areas: network planning, daily operations, and revenue control. Its AI layer processes both real-time and historical mobility data to forecast passenger demand, model traffic flows, and pinpoint network bottlenecks. Based on this analysis, it suggests more efficient schedules, routes, and fleet deployments.
According to the company’s internal estimates, such integrated solutions can help reduce traffic jams by up to 28%, lower operational costs by 35%, and improve fare collection by 30%. The platform’s real-time data capabilities can also support up to 40% faster decision-making for city authorities.
“We work with urban mobility every day in cities around the world, from ride-hailing and navigation to delivery and other services,” said Islam Abdul Karim, Regional Head of Yango Group Middle East. “This gives us a practical view of how cities move and where the challenges are. Bringing that experience into public transport is a logical step.”
For passengers, the solution can integrate public transport services directly into the Yango SuperApp. This allows users to access multimodal trip planning, real-time vehicle tracking, and digital ticketing from a single application, making transit more predictable and convenient.
Aligning with Dubai’s 20-Minute City Vision
The launch is timed as cities across the MENA region invest heavily in smarter infrastructure. It directly aligns with government initiatives like the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and its “20-minute city” concept, which aims to make daily destinations more accessible through sustainable and integrated mobility.
“With the platform, we want to help cities build public transport systems that are easier to manage, more financially sustainable and more convenient for people to use,” added Abdul Karim.
