Yemen’s ministers of social affairs and industry have reviewed preparations for the Hadramout Women Entrepreneurs Conference during separate meetings with representatives of the Women Entrepreneurs Forum in Aden.
The meetings covered the conference’s objectives, agenda and expected participation from women entrepreneurs across different sectors. Forum representatives also outlined their programs and initiatives to highlight women’s contributions to entrepreneurship and community development.
Social Affairs and Labour Minister Mukhtar al-Yafai said the ministry supports initiatives that promote women’s economic empowerment and expand their participation in the labour market. He also called for stronger institutional coordination to turn such initiatives into sustainable programs.
Al-Yafai described the conference as an opportunity to showcase women-led businesses, support entrepreneurship and attract partners and funders. He also proposed developing the forum into a structured national platform representing businesswomen from different Yemeni governorates.
Industry and Trade Minister Mohammed al-Ashwal said his ministry supports efforts to strengthen women’s entrepreneurship, build economic capabilities and encourage small and medium-sized businesses. According to the announcement, the conference will also seek to strengthen cooperation among government bodies, the private sector and civil society, while expanding opportunities for partnerships and financing with international institutions and donors.
