Zain KSA is expanding its digital infrastructure activities in Saudi Arabia through a proposed data centre partnership with DataVolt and a separate cloud communications deployment for the National Water Company (NWC).
The operator signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with DataVolt to explore developing data centre facilities across the Kingdom. The planned infrastructure could support Zain’s future needs and provide capacity for government entities, enterprises, cloud providers, digital content companies and digital platforms.
The facilities are also intended to support artificial intelligence workloads, with high-density computing, advanced cooling and high-capacity connectivity. The companies have not disclosed the locations, capacity, investment value or development timeline.
Separately, Zain KSA has deployed a cloud-native communications platform for NWC on its local cloud infrastructure. The system includes secure voice services, call masking, encrypted call recording, real-time analytics, intelligent call routing and AI-powered automated responses.
The platform is designed to improve communications between NWC and users of its water tanker service, with a focus on response times, privacy and reliability. NWC Vice President of IT and Digital Majid Abdulmohsen Al-Juraib said the deployment had enabled faster and more efficient communication through an integrated system.
