As part of its preparations for the Hajj 1447H season, Saudi digital services provider Zain KSA has launched a new AI-powered platform designed to manage its network and elevate the digital experience for pilgrims. The initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s goals to enhance the pilgrim journey through technology.
Quick Facts
- New AI platform for end-to-end network management.
- Infrastructure includes over 450 5G towers.
- Partnership with Nusuk for digital eSIM activation.
AI-Driven Network Automation
At the center of Zain KSA’s strategy is the new Smart Hajj Platform. The system uses artificial intelligence to deliver real-time network insights and identify potential issues before they impact users. It also provides instant optimization recommendations and can apply autonomous fixes without human intervention, allowing for faster resolution of network challenges compared to traditional methods.
The platform is built to improve the roaming experience for international pilgrims, ensuring reliable access to connectivity even during periods of peak demand. This helps provide faster and more stable connections for using apps and other digital services related to Hajj.
Bolstering Infrastructure and On-the-Ground Support
The AI platform integrates with Zain KSA’s digital infrastructure, which includes more than 450 5G towers and over 950 Wi-Fi access points across the Two Holy Mosques and holy sites.
To support its technical operations, the company has assembled a workforce of over 1,240 employees, with Saudi nationals making up 99% of the team. Field teams are available to assist pilgrims in more than eight languages, and 60% of frontline staff have received first aid training.
Zain KSA is also continuing its partnership with the Nusuk platform, allowing pilgrims to activate eSIMs directly through the app. The company is collaborating with government entities to provide digital solutions for crowd management and mission-critical communications.
