Arab Academy Boosts Student Startups At El Alamein Innovation Event

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT) celebrated the conclusion of its latest entrepreneurship event at its new, state-of-the-art campus in El Alamein. The ceremony, which awarded prizes to winning student innovators, highlighted the academy’s deepening commitment to fostering a vibrant startup culture and supporting Egypt’s national push for a knowledge-based economy.

The event was attended by high-profile figures, including Major General Khaled Shoaib, the Governor of Matrouh, and Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, President of AASTMT. In his address, the Governor praised the academy’s pivotal role in nurturing an ecosystem of innovation. He commended AASTMT for effectively developing the intellectual and creative skills of its students and encouraging them to establish their own ventures, which directly aligns with the state’s focus on human development.

Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar emphasized the strategic importance of the new El Alamein campus, describing it as a “significant addition to the higher education system in Egypt” and a reflection of the academy’s vision for regional expansion and local community service. The academy’s efforts are being spearheaded by its dedicated entrepreneurship centers. “We are proud of what the Entrepreneurship Center has achieved over the past years,” said Dr. Abdel Ghaffar. “We have successfully graduated a large number of startups that were launched by our students, which confirms the effectiveness of our training programs and our continuous support for innovators.” The event culminated in an awards ceremony, formally recognizing the winning students of the academy’s entrepreneurship competition.
