The Aswan branch of the National Council for Women (NCW) has successfully concluded a series of entrepreneurship training courses, equipping 150 women and girls in the region with vital business skills. The initiative targets villages within the Kom Ombo district, aiming to foster economic independence and encourage local enterprise.
Building Skills For Economic Empowerment
The training program provided participants with a comprehensive curriculum designed to build a strong foundation for starting and managing their own businesses. According to Dr. Hoda Mostafa, Head of the NCW’s Aswan branch, the courses covered essential topics including financial literacy, effective business planning, and marketing strategies. The sessions also focused on core entrepreneurial concepts such as innovation, time management, and project financing.
Dr. Mostafa stated that the program’s objective is “to develop skills and refine the expertise of women, encouraging them to enter the field of small and micro-enterprises.” This focus aims to directly contribute to the economic empowerment of women, who are recognized as the cornerstone of the Egyptian family.
A National Vision For Local Impact
This local initiative is a key component of broader national strategies launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, including the “National Project for the Development of the Egyptian Family” and the “Decent Life” presidential initiative. These campaigns are designed to support the economic, social, and cultural empowerment of families, particularly in rural and underserved communities. By providing practical skills at the grassroots level, the NCW’s program in Aswan directly implements the national vision of fostering sustainable development and inclusive growth.
