In a significant move to bolster the local startup ecosystem, the South Sinai branch of the National Council for Women (NCW) has launched a specialized training program designed to foster entrepreneurship among women and girls in the region. The initiative aims to provide aspiring female founders with the necessary skills and knowledge to build and scale their own ventures, contributing to their economic empowerment.

Fostering Entrepreneurship from Idea to Market

The comprehensive program guides participants through the entire business lifecycle, from ideation to execution. The curriculum is structured to cover critical stages of venture creation, including market research, identifying customer needs, product design, and effective marketing strategies. According to Dr. Noha Al-Husseini, the rapporteur of the NCW’s South Sinai branch, the training emphasizes practical application, teaching participants how to conduct market validation and iterate on their products based on consumer feedback.

A Strategic Push for Economic Empowerment

Beyond product development, the initiative provides crucial training on the financial aspects of running a business. Participants learn about financial modeling, creating budgets, and identifying potential funding sources for their small and medium-sized enterprises. The program is a key component of the “Together with Awareness, We Protect Her” initiative and directly supports Egypt’s National Strategy for the Empowerment of Women 2030. By promoting a culture of self-employment, the NCW aims to create new job opportunities, increase household incomes, and integrate women more effectively into Egypt’s sustainable development goals.
