Key government bodies, including the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) and the Central Agency for Information Technology, detailed a comprehensive roadmap designed to modernize infrastructure and enhance government efficiency in alignment with the nation’s “New Kuwait 2035” agenda.
A Vision for Responsible Innovation
Dr. Khaled Al-Zamel, Chairman of CITRA, emphasized that Kuwait is prioritizing the development of advanced national strategies to foster innovation and improve public systems. He highlighted CITRA’s central role in creating policies and regulatory frameworks that encourage the responsible adoption of AI. The authority is focused on ensuring that technological integration is balanced with robust cybersecurity measures and the preservation of ethical and human values. “AI carries a civilizational responsibility that demands awareness and sound governance,” Dr. Al-Zamel stated, underscoring the commitment to a safe and disciplined integration of emerging technologies according to international standards.
Driving the New Kuwait 2035 Agenda
The country’s digital transformation is rapidly accelerating, driven by the ambitious goals of the “New Kuwait 2035” vision. Najat Ibrahim, Acting Director General of the Central Agency for Information Technology, outlined several key initiatives currently underway. These include a strategic transition to cloud computing in partnership with global tech leaders, the development of integrated digital platforms to unify government services, and the implementation of secure APIs to streamline data sharing. These efforts are aimed at significantly improving public service delivery, supporting a thriving innovation ecosystem, and strengthening Kuwait’s digital economy.

The forum, which gathered representatives from across the GCC’s public and private sectors, also served as a critical platform for regional dialogue and cooperation. Participants explored how AI and digitization can enhance administrative efficiency, service quality, and data-driven decision-making throughout the Gulf. The event concluded with a unified call to action among GCC countries to advance regional AI cooperation, translating global insights into tangible projects that will contribute to a secure, sustainable, and inclusive digital future for all.
