Egypt Boosts Startup Scene as ITIDA and 500 Global Conclude Sixth Bootcamp

The sixth edition of the Startup Bootcamp, a key initiative designed to accelerate the growth of promising Egyptian startups, has successfully concluded. The program is a collaborative effort between Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and global venture capital firm 500 Global, aimed at connecting early-stage founders with prominent investors and industry experts.

An Intensive Program for Early-Stage Founders

The Startup Bootcamp is an intensive five-day program tailored for pre-seed and seed-stage companies in Egypt. It empowers founders with deep industry insights and practical experience to accelerate their growth trajectories. Participants engage in one-on-one mentorship sessions with leading experts, exploring strategies for growth, product development, brand building, fundraising, and team expansion. The curriculum is designed to equip entrepreneurs with actionable plans to overcome common business challenges and refine their vision.

Connecting Startups with Venture Capital

The program culminated in a graduation ceremony where 22 participating startups engaged in over 90 individual meetings with 13 leading venture capital firms. This direct interaction provided founders with a critical platform to pitch their ideas, receive constructive feedback, and gain strategic guidance on their next phase of growth. For many entrepreneurs, the event marked a significant milestone, offering an invaluable opportunity to build direct relationships with key players in the investment community.

Strengthening International Tech Alliances

In a parallel move to bolster its global tech standing, Egypt has been actively forging international partnerships. Represented by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), the country participated in the recent GITEX GLOBAL event in Dubai, signing a cooperation agreement with the UAE’s Cyber Security Council. This pact aims to enhance collaboration in cybersecurity, protect critical infrastructure, and jointly manage cyber threats, aligning with Egypt’s National Cybersecurity Strategy (2023–2027).
Furthering these efforts, ITIDA recently hosted a Swiss business delegation at the Smart Village to explore opportunities in technology and outsourcing. Organized in collaboration with several trade and investment bodies, the visit included tours of major tech companies like IBM and Concentrix, showcasing Egypt’s competitive advantages as a global hub for digital services and innovation-driven partnerships.
