Saudi AI Startup Velents Secures $1.5 Million To Deploy Arabic-Speaking AI Employee

Saudi-based enterprise AI startup Velents has secured a $1.5 million funding round from prominent angel investors, including senior executives from Google and BCG. The funding announcement coincides with the company’s launch of Agent.sa, a fully autonomous, Arabic-speaking AI employee designed for businesses across the Middle East.

The Launch of Agent.sa

Velents is positioning Agent.sa not as a supporting tool, but as a full-fledged digital colleague. The autonomous AI employee is fluent in Arabic and its various regional dialects, enabling it to operate seamlessly within companies just like a human team member.

The AI agent can answer phone calls, manage customer conversations on WhatsApp, Telegram, and Instagram, track requests, execute operational tasks, and analyze data, all in natural, localized Arabic without requiring translation layers.

“We’re not just building a tool,” said Mohamed Gaber, co-founder and CEO of Velents. “We’re delivering a real digital employee who works alongside human teams. Our goal is to empower Arab companies with an intelligent worker who understands their language and their dialect and enhances their daily productivity.”

Advanced Capabilities and Integration

Agent.sa is built on a proprietary Arabic-language model trained on millions of texts and conversations across diverse dialects. According to the company, any business can create and deploy its own AI employee in under five minutes, training it on internal files and data. The agent’s voice, dialect, and communication style are all customizable to match the company’s brand.

The platform is designed for seamless deployment, integrating with over 20 systems, including CRM platforms and payment gateways. Velents also emphasized its compliance with local data protection laws, noting that all data is stored within Saudi Arabia for its clients there, while operations in Egypt remain within national borders.

“We’re not selling off-the-shelf software,” added Abdulaziz Almuhaydib, co-founder and COO. “We’re embedding a smart employee into every company, one that learns, adapts, and delivers value in real time.”

From HRtech to Enterprise AI

Founded in 2020 by Mohamed Gaber and Abdulaziz Almuhaydib, Velents is powered by a joint Egyptian-Saudi team. The company initially focused on recruitment automation before relaunching in 2023 with a broader mission to provide AI-driven digital solutions.

Velents has since secured clients across Egypt and Saudi Arabia, including government ministries, universities, and private enterprises. The company plans to use the new capital to scale its AI infrastructure and accelerate product adoption ahead of a larger funding round planned for early 2026.
