The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has announced a new comprehensive initiative to bolster the country’s entrepreneurial landscape, with a special focus on supporting female entrepreneurs in the heritage and handicrafts sector. Launched under the slogan “Because your ideas deserve to grow,” the program aims to empower business owners through a suite of banking solutions, training, and free consultations.
This initiative is part of the bank’s broader NBE Business Clinic program, designed to foster business growth and enhance financial inclusion across Egypt.
NBE Business Clinic
At the core of the initiative is the NBE Business Clinic, which provides free, individual sessions offering comprehensive information on the bank’s financial and non-financial products and services. The program is designed to guide companies step-by-step according to the specific needs of each project.
The clinic’s team consists of specialized experts in financial services, non-financial services, financial inclusion, e-commerce, B2B services, and cybersecurity. These sessions are targeted at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), startups, and individual entrepreneurs.
Strategic Partnerships and Acceleration
NBE is strengthening its commitment to the ecosystem by expanding its strategic partnerships with leading entrepreneurship institutions, including incubators and accelerators.
In collaboration with Plug and Play, NBE is supporting an innovation platform in Cairo that operates across two main tracks. The MVP Stage track targets early-stage startups focused on developing a market-fit product, while the Revenue Generating track is designed for growth-stage startups with established products seeking to scale their operations.
The partnership also includes a 12-week accelerator program that provides specialized workshops, local and international networking opportunities, potential investment, and access to co-working spaces within Egypt’s digital innovation centers.
Furthermore, through its collaboration with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport’s Entrepreneurship Center, the bank supports the “Rally Egypt” competition for university students and the Rally Accelerate program for tech startups in the investment and expansion phase.
Integrated Support and Skill Development
Beyond direct funding and acceleration, NBE is offering a wide range of support services. The bank provides specialized advisory sessions in finance, cybersecurity, and business technology, alongside a “Business Essentials” package that includes e-payment solutions, website development, supply chain management, and payment collection services.
To enhance financial and managerial literacy, NBE organizes specialized workshops covering topics such as feasibility studies, financial management, legal structures for projects, e-commerce, and banking solutions for small projects. The bank also produces “Business in Two Words,” a short-form video series where its experts share insights on market trends.
