Tunisia Calls On AgriTech Startups For New Innovation Challenge And Accelerator

3 Min Read

The Accelerate for Impact Platform, an initiative by the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), has partnered with several organizations to launch the AgriTech4Tunisia Innovation Challenge. The program is designed to identify and support practical, scalable agricultural technology solutions within Tunisia.

Fostering Innovation from MVP to Market

The challenge targets both local and international entrepreneurs who are developing startups in the AgriTech sector. A key requirement for applicants is having a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that has already been tested or trialed with end-users.
The program is specifically looking for teams that are at the pre-incorporation or early-incorporation stage and are currently in the process of raising pre-seed or seed funding.

A Two-Phase Approach to Growth

The initiative begins with a fully-funded, four-day bootcamp in Tunisia for 20 selected teams. This immersive experience will include field visits to local farms, direct networking events with farmers and agricultural stakeholders, and mentorship sessions focused on business model development and investor pitching.

Following the bootcamp, 10 teams will be selected to advance to a three-month accelerator program. This phase provides specialized training tailored to each startup’s specific technical and commercial needs. The accelerator will offer support in building a clear business model, developing a field trial plan, preparing investor-ready pitch materials, and facilitating connections to potential business and funding opportunities.

Connecting Innovators with Industry Leaders

The program will culminate in a Demo Day, where the participating teams will present their solutions to an audience of industry experts, scientists, investors, and corporate partners.

Continuous support will be provided even after the program concludes, with ongoing opportunities for networking with partners and access to CGIAR’s innovation platforms and scientific infrastructure. Applications are open until February 12th and can be submitted through the program’s official website.
