Program Overview

The Learning Cabinet is an initiative led by UNICEF alongside the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, and ARM. Its mission is to address the global learning crisis by identifying and promoting EdTech tools that are evidence-informed, accessible, and ready for system-level deployment. Solutions submitted to the platform undergo a rigorous review via the EdTech for Good Framework, moving beyond marketing claims to establish trusted credibility for international partners and policymakers.

Key Benefits

  • Independent Quality Assessment: Receive a transparent review aligned with international standards for safe and effective EdTech.
  • Global Visibility: Gain exposure to UNICEF teams, national governments, and major donors looking for verified solutions.
  • Country Matching: High-performing solutions may be considered for national pilots and large-scale government deployments in low- and middle-income countries.
  • Credibility Signaling: A listing serves as a “seal of approval” for responsible design and data protection, aiding in future funding and partnership discussions.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Product Stage: Solutions must be live, in active use, and ready for real-world deployment.
  • Target Areas: Must support teaching and learning (Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary, Vocational, or Teacher Professional Development).
  • Evidence of Impact: Providers must demonstrate positive outcomes for teaching or learning appropriate to their product’s maturity.
  • Safety Standards: A firm commitment to child-centered design and responsible data protection is required.
  • Priority Focus: UNICEF is especially interested in tools that empower teachers, support foundational learning, or build future skills.
