  • New online registration system is launching

A Breakdown of New Business Structures

The new registrations reflect a diverse range of corporate structures. According to the ministry’s data, the majority of the new entities are limited liability companies, totaling 1,349.

The remaining registrations include 432 general partnerships, 38 limited partnerships, 24 closed private joint-stock companies, and three closed holding companies. This variety suggests activity across different scales and sectors of the economy.

Government Pushes Digital Reforms to Attract Investors

Abdo credited the increase in company formations to government initiatives aimed at simplifying registration and creating a more stable, investor-friendly climate. He noted that the Directorate of Corporate Affairs and Property Protection, which was reopened in a rehabilitated Damascus location in July 2025, has modernized its services to improve efficiency.

A key part of this push is the upcoming launch of an electronic system for online company incorporation.

“The system is aimed at allowing investors from inside and outside Syria to complete registration remotely and track applications step by step,” Abdo stated. He added that it will feature an electronic payment gateway to reduce bureaucracy and save time for entrepreneurs.
