Zameeli, an Omani digital platform connecting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with local creative freelancers, has secured a Shariah-compliant working capital facility from Sharakah. The funding is set to accelerate the startup’s growth and enhance its platform, which serves as a marketplace for social media content creation and other creative services within the Sultanate.

Quick Facts

  • Deal: Shariah-compliant working capital facility.
  • Recipient: Omani freelance platform Zameeli.
  • Provider: Oman’s SME development company, Sharakah.
  • Goal: To expand technology, marketing, and user base.

Fueling Oman’s Gig Economy

Zameeli’s platform addresses a key need for SMEs by providing flexible access to a local talent pool of designers, marketers, videographers, and content creators. This model allows businesses to boost their digital presence without the overhead of full-time hires.

The new capital from Sharakah will be used to advance Zameeli’s technology, improve the platform’s efficiency, and ramp up marketing efforts. The objective is to attract a wider network of both SMEs and freelance professionals, strengthening Oman’s local digital ecosystem.

Connecting Talent with Opportunity

Ali Ahmed Muqaibal, Chief Executive Officer of Sharakah, noted the strategic importance of supporting platforms like Zameeli. “At Sharakah, we recognize the importance of businesses that create new pathways for SMEs and entrepreneurs to collaborate and grow,” he said. “Zameeli represents an innovative approach to connecting talent with opportunity, and our support reflects our commitment to enabling businesses that are reshaping how SMEs access creative and digital services.”

Tariq Al Habsi, Owner of Zameeli, highlighted the impact of the funding on the company’s future. “This support marks an important milestone in our journey and gives us the momentum to accelerate our next phase of growth,” Al Habsi stated. “The working capital facility enables us to strengthen our technology, improve user experience, and continue building a platform that creates value for both SMEs and local freelancers.”
