  • Seven-month intensive leadership program.
  • Aligned with UAE AI Strategy 2031.

Cultivating a New Generation of AI Leadership

The 2024 cohort is the program’s largest and most diverse since its inception in 2019. The 32 participants come from six different Emirates, with an average age of 33.

The group represents a strategic mix of the UAE’s key economic sectors, with 50% from public institutions, 28% from state-owned enterprises, and 22% from the private sector. The cohort also brings significant academic depth, with 22% holding PhDs and 66% possessing Master’s degrees.

From Theory to National Impact

Over the next seven months, participants will work with experts from government, industry, and academia to identify how AI can address major opportunities and challenges within their respective sectors. The program focuses on practical applications, including improving public services, increasing economic competitiveness, and generating new growth areas.

A core component of the program is the NEP-AI Capstone Project. This requires each expert to identify a sector-specific challenge and lead an applied AI project with measurable outcomes within their own organization, contributing directly to national objectives. The initial module, which began on June 8 in Abu Dhabi, is designed to ground the cohort in the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031.

About the National Experts Program

The National Experts Program (NEP) was created to prepare Emirati specialists to harness the power of key technologies and sectors in shaping the UAE’s future. The NEP-AI track specifically supports the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, aiming to bridge the gap between technology, leadership, and national development by building a strong pipeline of local talent.
