Saudi Startup Pickappo Raises SAR 2 Million to Build On-Demand Delivery Infrastructure

3 Min Read

Saudi-based logistics technology platform Pickappo has closed a SAR 2 million Pre-Seed funding round. The investment came from an unnamed angel investor and an investment fund, signaling confidence in the company’s approach to fixing the underlying technical challenges in the region’s on-demand delivery market.

Quick Facts

  • Funding: SAR 2 million Pre-Seed round.
  • Investors: An angel investor and an investment fund.
  • Mission: To build the digital infrastructure for on-demand delivery.

Unifying a Fragmented Market

Pickappo is not launching another delivery fleet. Instead, it is building the technology layer that connects all stakeholders—logistics companies, ordering platforms, online stores, and restaurants—into a single, efficient network. The company plans to use the new capital to advance its technology, focusing on artificial intelligence and automation to improve efficiency for its partners.

Founder and CEO Waleed Ghloniem, who was part of the early team at HungerStation, identified a core industry problem that led to the company’s creation.

“Through my experience in the delivery sector, I realized that the real challenge was not creating another delivery app or launching an additional delivery company, but rather the absence of a technology infrastructure capable of connecting all stakeholders efficiently,” Ghloniem explained. “That is how the idea of Pickappo was born. We do not compete with delivery companies or ordering applications; instead, we build the technology layer that enables them to work together through a unified and more flexible network.”

Experienced Leadership and Early Traction

Ghloniem is joined by Co-Founder and CTO Ahmed Siam, who brings over 15 years of software engineering experience to lead the platform’s technical development.

Since its launch, the company has already developed an operational network of more than 100 logistics companies. It has also completed several technical integrations with ordering platforms, e-commerce stores, and restaurants, alongside securing strategic partnerships with local and international brands and government entities. The funding will also be used to attract more talent and expand its network of strategic partnerships.
