Tunisia’s RoboCare Lands Six-Figure Investment to Scale its AI Farming Tech Across MENA

3 Min Read

Tunisian agritech startup RoboCare has secured a six-figure investment from venture capital firm 216 Capital. The funding is set to fuel the company’s next growth phase, focusing on expanding its AI-driven precision agriculture platform across Africa and the Middle East.

Quick Facts

  • Deal: Six-figure investment round.
  • Investor: Tunisian VC firm 216 Capital.
  • Goal: Expansion across Africa and the Middle East.

AI-Powered Farming for Regional Crops

Founded in Sfax, RoboCare develops an agricultural management platform that helps farmers improve decision-making by intelligently processing data from satellite imagery, drones, IoT sensors, and weather reports. The company’s AI models enable the early detection of crop diseases and stress, leading to optimized resource use and better farm performance.

The results are significant, with field data showing up to 35% in water savings, a 25% reduction in agricultural inputs, and a 20% increase in crop yields. This allows farmers to boost productivity while simultaneously lessening their environmental impact.

Building from Local MENA Data

A key differentiator for RoboCare is its focus on crops that are strategic for the region, including olive trees, cereals, and processing tomatoes. Unlike generalist platforms, the company builds its models from local data to address the specific soil and climate conditions of North Africa and the Middle East. This tailored approach provides agronomic recommendations that are precisely suited to the needs of regional farmers.

To date, RoboCare is actively monitoring several thousand hectares and has generated thousands of agronomic alerts, enabling operators to respond more effectively to potential issues.

Fueling a MENA-Wide Expansion

With the new capital, RoboCare plans to accelerate its development on three fronts: expanding into new markets in Africa and the Middle East, strengthening its commercial teams, and continuously enhancing its AI models for new agricultural environments.

“For 216 Capital, this investment fully aligns with its strategy of supporting high-potential tech startups capable of delivering concrete answers to the continent’s major economic, social, and environmental challenges,” said Hassen Arfaoui, Principal at 216 Capital.
