Invest Qatar, the country’s investment promotion agency, has launched a new venture capital funding module on its digital gateway platform, creating a streamlined channel for startups to access institutional capital. The new feature was developed in collaboration with the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA).

Quick Facts

  • New VC funding module launched
  • Developed with Qatar Investment Authority (QIA)
  • Features QIA-backed global and local funds
  • Centralises startup discovery and applications

A Single Entry Point for Institutional Capital

The new module consolidates the venture capital discovery and application process into a single, centralised system. Emerging businesses can use the platform to review the investment focus areas and eligibility criteria of participating VC funds.

Startups can submit their investment pitches directly to fund managers and get access to supporting ecosystem services. The initiative aims to improve transparency and efficiency for early-stage companies navigating the fundraising process.

Backed by QIA’s Fund of Funds Programme

Many of the venture firms featured on the platform are supported by Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund through its $3 billion fund of funds programme.

The initial rollout includes a network of prominent international and local funds such as B Capital, Greycroft, Speedinvest, and Shorooq. It also features the Tech Venture Fund by Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP).

“The module is the latest addition to our platform, built deliberately to simplify every stage of a founder’s journey,” said Dr. Hamad Rashid Al-Naimi, Chief Strategy Officer at Invest Qatar.

“By bringing these funds together, we offer startups a clear, direct path from idea to institutional capital, with access to the resources needed to scale globally.”

Building Qatar’s Innovation Hub

The initiative is part of a wider strategy to establish Qatar as a regional center for technology and innovation. By anchoring multiple venture funds to a single digital portal, the agency aims to lower entry barriers and make it easier for global founders to set up a presence in the Middle East.

“This module provides entrepreneurs with a centralised platform that enables them to have greater visibility of available opportunities and clearer pathways to connect with relevant fund managers,” said Haya Al Ghanim, Director of Qatar Funds at the Qatar Investment Authority.
