Riyadh is set to host the Global Games Show from June 29-30, gathering a high-profile lineup of gaming executives, government officials, and content creators to discuss the future of the industry. Organized by VAP Group and powered by Times of Games, the event aims to cement Saudi Arabia’s growing position as a global gaming and esports hub, aligning directly with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives. The conference will feature keynote sessions and panel discussions exploring topics from Web3 game development to the evolution of digital entertainment.

From Government Strategy to Esports Infrastructure

The speaker list highlights a strategic blend of public and private sector leadership, reflecting the Kingdom’s comprehensive approach to building its gaming ecosystem. Majed Aleid, CIRO & Director at the Ministry of Investment (MISA), will provide insights into national gaming investment strategies and ecosystem development.

Joining him is Elie Honain, CEO of NES, who will address the evolution of esports infrastructure and competitive gaming ecosystems. Their presence underscores the collaboration required to scale the industry, from policy and investment frameworks to the physical and digital arenas for competition.

The agenda also focuses on the new frontiers of gaming, including community building and creator-led economies. Johnson Yeh, founder and CEO of Ambrus Studio, is slated to discuss the future of global tournaments, while Malak AlQhtani, CEO & Founder of Valar Club, will speak on innovation in gaming communities and entrepreneurship.
