The newly approved optional course, titled “Technology Transfer and Commercialization,” is designed to provide students with a clear roadmap for converting their ideas and inventions into successful commercial projects. According to the university’s announcement, the curriculum will also focus on building a strong culture of intellectual property awareness and entrepreneurship on campus.
This initiative aims to directly address the gap between theoretical knowledge and market application, nurturing a new generation of founders from within the university’s halls.
Fostering a Culture of Innovation
The introduction of the new course aligns with the university’s broader efforts to champion student-led innovation. The council also celebrated the recent success of the “Aquaphoton” team from the Faculty of Engineering.
The team secured first place in the regional competition for unmanned submarines and marine robots, going on to represent Egypt at the international finals in Canada. The university highlighted this achievement as a clear indicator of its students’ ability to compete on a global stage, reinforcing the need for formal programs that can help channel such technical talent into new ventures.
