Morocco has deployed its first fleet of AI-powered police patrol vehicles in Rabat, adding artificial intelligence to the country’s public safety and smart city operations.

According to the announcement, the vehicles support law enforcement with real-time monitoring, automated data analysis and improved situational awareness. The systems are designed to help officers process visual and operational data, identify potential risks and respond more efficiently to security incidents.

The deployment is part of Morocco’s wider digital transformation agenda, which includes expanding the use of AI in public services, urban management and public administration. It also places Rabat among cities using intelligent technologies to strengthen policing and optimise resource allocation.

The initiative highlights the growing role of AI in smart city strategies, where connected surveillance, advanced analytics and intelligent patrol systems can support coordination between emergency services and police teams.

The company said the deployment also underscores the need for strong governance as AI use expands across the public sector. Transparency, cybersecurity, privacy protections and clear accountability will be important to maintaining public trust in AI-enabled policing.
