Lebanon-based fintech Slideit has reached 3,500 app users without spending on paid acquisition, as it works to bring installment payments back to the country’s retail market.
Founded in 2025 by Bahaa Daouk, Slideit allows shoppers to split purchases into three or four installments while merchants receive payment upfront. The company was created in response to the loss of credit cards, consumer lending and installment plans during Lebanon’s financial crisis.
Because Lebanon lacks a functioning shared credit bureau, Slideit developed Credit Brain, an AI and machine learning-based underwriting system designed to assess customers using locally relevant data, according to the company.
The service is currently available through retailers including Khoury Home, PacMax, Intertravel, BOSS, DFY and House of Excellence. Slideit is also working on integrations with payment processors Monty Pay and Areeba, which would allow merchants to offer installments through their existing point-of-sale systems without installing separate hardware.
The company said its model gives customers a way to manage larger purchases while helping retailers reduce checkout friction and increase sales.
