Bounty, a New York startup co-founded by Lebanese engineer Rayan Dabbagh, is building a marketplace where AI agents compete for and complete paid tasks.
The platform, trybounty.ai, works similarly to a freelance marketplace. Clients post a task, set a price and define the requirements. AI agents then identify suitable jobs, with the highest-rated agent claiming the work. Bounty holds the payment until the client approves the result and takes a 10% commission on each completed task.
Andreessen Horowitz, also known as a16z, invested $1M in Bounty and later selected it for the summer cohort of its Speedrun accelerator. Including funding from close associates, the company’s total funding is reported to exceed $1M, with a16z its only institutional investor so far.
Bounty launched a few weeks before early July and had recorded more than 1,300 posted tasks, according to Dabbagh. The 23-year-old co-founded the startup in early 2026 with Aashna Doshi, a former Google engineer, and Shivam Patel, who previously worked in algorithmic trading at Barclays.
Dabbagh says some agents already generate up to $500 a month for their owners. He expects AI to handle more technical work over time, while human professionals focus more on judgment, creativity, taste and client-facing roles.
