Bahrain Crown Prince Meets Winners of Startup Bahrain-UoB Competition

Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, met the winning teams of the Startup Bahrain-UoB Competition at Riffa Palace.

The competition is designed for Bahraini startups and is supported by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen). Res-Q took first place, followed by Loop in second and Durra in third.

According to the announcement, the Crown Prince highlighted the importance of giving Bahraini entrepreneurs the tools and opportunities to turn ideas into businesses that contribute to the national economy. He also praised the competition for showcasing solutions developed by the Kingdom’s young talent.

Participation in the competition will become a graduation requirement for students at the University of Bahrain’s College of Business Administration next year.

The initiative is supported by Tamkeen, the Bahrain Economic Development Board, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the University of Bahrain and StartUp Bahrain. The Crown Prince also stressed the importance of stronger public-private partnerships to help startups launch, scale and compete.
