Bahrain-based insurtech startup Soor has secured a pre-seed investment from Spring to accelerate product development, expand its operations and strengthen its position in the Kingdom’s insurance market.
Founded by Mahmood Dhaif and co-founded by software engineering leader Qasim Albaqali, Soor operates a digital platform that lets users compare insurance policies from providers in Bahrain and purchase coverage through a single app.
The company is licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain. It aims to make insurance easier to navigate by offering greater transparency, competitive pricing and a more convenient purchasing experience, while giving insurers a digital channel to reach and understand customers.
According to the announcement, Soor will use the investment to enhance its platform, expand partnerships with insurance providers and improve the user experience. The startup also plans to strengthen its presence in Bahrain while exploring regional expansion opportunities.
“SOOR creates a stronger digital channel to reach, serve, and understand customers better,” Dhaif said. Spring Managing Director Zainab Khamis said the firm believes Soor has a scalable approach to a fragmented insurance experience and is positioned to drive change in Bahrain and beyond.
