Investors who put nearly $1.2M into mental health startup Wondermind are suing singer and actress Selena Gomez and her mother, alleging securities fraud and breach of contract.
According to the lawsuit, Wondermind failed to deliver on commitments without informing investors. The plaintiffs also allege that Gomez did not market the company as promised and that the startup misrepresented its financial position and overstated her involvement.
Launched in 2021, Wondermind aimed to provide users with daily mental health resources. The investors claim they were unaware of the company’s difficulties until a September 2025 report by The Cut. They allege that promised partnerships and initiatives never materialized and that the app was not built.
The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments and legal fees. Wondermind did not respond to a request for comment, according to the report, which was first published by Forbes.
