Dubai Plans Rent Now, Pay Later Scheme for Tenants by September 2026

Dubai is preparing to launch a “Rent Now, Pay Later” service that would allow eligible tenants to spread annual rent across up to 12 interest-free monthly instalments.

The Dubai Land Department (DLD) is developing the programme with a local bank, with launch expected in September 2026. Under the proposed model, the bank would pay the landlord the full annual rent upfront, while the tenant repays the bank monthly.

The initiative is intended to reduce the need for large upfront rental payments and make budgeting easier for salaried residents and families. Landlords, meanwhile, could gain greater certainty by receiving the annual rent in advance.

The programme follows the DLD’s Flexi Rent initiative, introduced in June 2026, which enabled participating properties to offer monthly, quarterly or semi-annual payment options. The new scheme would add a banking component to that flexibility.

The DLD has not yet announced the final eligibility criteria, application process, administrative charges or other contractual details. Those terms will determine how widely the programme can be used by tenants, landlords and property investors.
