Tunisia has launched a training program for 100 women entrepreneurs focused on e-commerce and artificial intelligence applications, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Family, Women, Children and the Elderly.

The initiative targets women with business ideas and existing projects, helping them build digital skills, deepen their understanding of online business and apply AI tools in their work. It was launched in partnership with the National Organisation of Entrepreneurs and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).

Minister Asma Jabri said the program forms part of Tunisia’s broader push to support women’s entrepreneurship and economic inclusion. She described entrepreneurship and financial independence as strategic priorities for strengthening women’s role in the economy and promoting a culture of initiative.

The ministry said national efforts aim to raise the share of women’s entrepreneurship to at least 20% by 2035.
