Syriatel and aixplain have announced a partnership to deploy advanced artificial intelligence infrastructure in Syria, with services designed around Arabic-first capabilities.
The companies highlighted the initiative during the LEAP conference in Riyadh, describing it as a step toward expanding digital infrastructure in Syria. The infrastructure will support AI services across Syriatel’s network, reaching more than 12 million subscribers, according to the announcement.
The partnership is intended to support Syrian talent, institutions and businesses, with Arabic language capabilities positioned at the core of the deployment.
The memorandum was initially signed in Damascus and formally ratified in Riyadh. Yasir Kahf, CEO of Syriatel, said the telecom operator aims to help enable Syria’s digital economy, adding that AI will be central to that effort and aixplain will be its partner.
The announcement did not provide details on the deployment timeline, technical specifications or investment involved.
