Morocco’s Foundation for Research, Development and Innovation in Science and Engineering is expanding its work across academic training, technology, research and entrepreneurship, according to details presented at its board meeting and general assembly in Mohammedia.
André Azoulay, the foundation’s president and adviser to King Mohammed VI, said its training system now serves more than 2,500 students in Mohammedia and Essaouira. Most students receive scholarships, and the total was reached within three years, he said.
The foundation’s model combines academic and practical education with support for young entrepreneurs and project founders. Azoulay also highlighted training in health professions, alongside plans to develop advanced academic tracks in emerging technologies, healthcare and medical specialisations.
The foundation currently offers 56 accredited programs across health, environment, computer science and healthcare professions. Its research and innovation activities involve 78 researchers working on 34 projects with more than 88 partners. The wider education system includes 62 research professors, 70 engineers and 30 experts.
Entrepreneurship remains a core focus. In 2025, the foundation said it reached 17,789 people, received 5,480 projects and contributed to the creation of 679 companies. Its startup creation and project incubation activities involve 160 experts and 187 employees.
The institution also reported the launch of the International Blue Ocean University, a 2025 forum on digital transformation in healthcare, and new health and technology schools planned for 2026.
