Meta has launched Muse, a personal AI agent initially rolling out in the United States through its website, iOS and Android apps, and WhatsApp.
Powered by Meta’s Muse Spark model, Muse is designed to complete tasks rather than only answer questions. It can send emails, book travel, fill out forms, create plans, turn recipe videos into grocery lists, send invitations and make online purchases. The agent can continue working after users leave the app and return when it needs approval for a sensitive action.
Users can connect Muse to services including email, calendars, payments, shopping, health and fitness apps, smart-home tools, music, dining and events. Connections can be made through built-in integrations, public APIs or browser access, depending on the service.
Meta said Muse runs inside a dedicated environment called Muse Secure VM. A separate security agent, Sentinel, reviews actions before they reach the internet. The company also said credentials are stored securely, while conversations and data in the virtual machine are not shared with its advertising systems.
Muse offers a free tier, alongside Power at $20 per month and Maximum at $100 per month. Meta said the agent will also come to its AI-powered glasses. The launch places Meta in a growing race to build consumer AI agents, while raising questions about whether users will trust the company with such broad access to their personal services and data.
