HiiL has opened applications for Hack4Justice Lebanon 2026, a two-day justice innovation hackathon taking place on 10–11 October at Berytech Dekwaneh in Mar Roukoz, Lebanon.
Held under the patronage of Lebanon’s Ministry of Justice, with support from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in collaboration with Berytech, the event will ask participants to develop solutions for a real justice-sector challenge identified with the ministry. The challenge focuses on creating a digital or assisted journey to help people navigate a defined Lebanese civil-court procedure.
Teams of three to five people will be prioritised, with each team expected to include legal and technology expertise. Designers, researchers, entrepreneurs, public-service professionals and others can also apply. Individual applications are accepted if additional teams can be formed.
Selected participants will receive expert mentoring and feedback, build a practical prototype and pitch it to a jury. Three winning teams will receive €5,000, €3,000 and €1,000, respectively. The concepts, prototypes and related outputs developed during the hackathon will be owned by the Ministry of Justice, according to the announcement.
The event will be held in Arabic and English, with overnight access available for participants who want to continue working. Applications close on 25 September 2026.
