QIA Invests in Positron AI’s $875M Series C at $5B Valuation

Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) has invested in Positron AI’s $875M Series C financing, valuing the US-based AI inference hardware company at $5B, according to an announcement.

The round was co-led by NEA, Atreides Management, Valor Equity Partners, Andra Capital, Jim Clark and other investors. QIA also participated in Positron’s Series B round in February 2026.

Positron develops hardware and software intended to make AI inference, or the process of running trained models, more cost- and energy-efficient. Its memory-first architecture is designed to address constraints around memory capacity, bandwidth and power, while reducing reliance on High Bandwidth Memory and Chip-on-Wafer-on-Substrate supply chains.

The new funding will support the development and commercialisation of Positron’s next-generation systems. This includes the tapeout of Asimov, its next-generation silicon, and the production ramp-up of Titan, a multi-terabyte-memory inference system.

The company said its Atlas product is already deployed at hyperscaler scale. Asimov is expected to tape out in late 2026, with production planned for the second half of 2027.
