Venture Ready Alexandria has graduated its first cohort, marking a milestone for 17 Egyptian startup founders who completed the program.

The September 9 ceremony featured opening remarks from representatives of GIZ Egypt, the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and Plug and Play Africa. Founders from startups including BlinkBot, Naffes CRM, STEMers, DATAGENX.AI, PetConnect and Sputnik Academy received completion certificates.

A roundtable with Omar Radwan, Executive Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange, explored the gap between the current readiness of Egyptian startups and the requirements of public markets. The discussion also covered NileX as a potential pathway for hybrid and technology-enabled startups and SMEs, alongside the importance of governance and disclosure for companies considering a public listing.

Venture Ready is implemented by Plug and Play Africa with support from GIZ Egypt, in partnership with Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and ITIDA. The program is hosted at Creativa innovation hubs.

According to the announcement, applications for Cohort 2 are expected to open in November.
