UAE Approves $272M Fund to Strengthen Local Industry and AI Manufacturing

2 Min Read

The UAE has approved a $272 million National Industrial Resilience Fund to support critical industries, strengthen domestic supply chains and accelerate the use of artificial intelligence in manufacturing.

The fund is part of the government’s broader “Make it in the Emirates” push to expand local production and connect manufacturers with investors, technology providers and major buyers.

Support will target critical industries and the adoption of AI across production, operations and planning. The National In-Country Value (ICV) Program will also direct more government and institutional spending toward products and services made in the UAE. The program is mandatory in selected sectors, giving local manufacturers greater access to major procurement contracts.

Through the Make it in the Emirates platform, investors and industry leaders can identify domestic production and investment opportunities, secure funding and connect with larger supply chains.

The wider push includes efforts to increase local food production. The UAE Good Agricultural Practices program aims to certify 80% of local farms, while the Sustainable Product initiative targets a 25% share for locally produced agricultural and livestock products used by restaurants and hotels.

The UAE has also launched the Al Taweelah recycling plant in Abu Dhabi, which can process 185,000 tonnes of aluminum scrap annually into lower-carbon products.
