Saudi Arabia’s commercial registrations for artificial intelligence activities rose 31% to 24,552, making it the fastest-growing Vision 2030 sector, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
The ministry attributed the increase to growth in computer programming, information and communications activities. It said 192,000 commercial registrations had been issued since the beginning of 2026, as of September.
Saudi Arabia has designated 2026 as the Year of Artificial Intelligence to accelerate technology adoption and support a data- and AI-driven economy. The initiative includes Humain, a Public Investment Fund company established in May 2025 to develop AI technologies and infrastructure.
Other technology-related sectors also recorded growth. Cybersecurity registrations increased 22% to 11,275, while virtual and augmented reality registrations rose 21% to 13,853. Electronic games registrations grew 24% to 977.
Overall, commercial registrations in the Kingdom surpassed 1.9 million, including 1.3 million establishment permits, 599,000 limited liability companies and 5,000 joint-stock companies.
