Oman’s Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, known as Riyada, has concluded a training program for academics and administrators in Musandam, with 30 participants taking part.

Held at Riyada Hall under the title “Entrepreneur Readiness for Academics and Administrators,” the program aimed to build entrepreneurship skills and help participants introduce entrepreneurial thinking into their workplaces.

The sessions covered entrepreneurial concepts, opportunity discovery, idea development, project planning and the stages of an entrepreneur’s journey. Participants also learned about feasibility studies, risk management and turning ideas into practical projects. The program introduced Riyada’s support services, initiatives and financing programs for entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses in the governorate.

Participants from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, the education sector and government departments said the training strengthened their ability to support student companies, develop projects and promote entrepreneurship within institutional environments.

Riyada’s Musandam administration said the authority plans to deliver more initiatives for different community groups and expand partnerships with government, academic and private-sector organisations. The aim, according to the announcement, is to strengthen the local entrepreneurship ecosystem and support the growth and sustainability of businesses in Musandam.

Certificates were distributed at the closing ceremony by Sheikh Qais bin Salem bin Mohammed Al Madhani, Deputy Wali of Khasab in Lima.
