Marrakech Airshow 2026 Sees Morocco Sign AI, Drone and Aerospace Deals

Morocco signed a series of agreements focused on aerospace manufacturing, artificial intelligence, drone technology and aviation research at the opening of the Marrakech Airshow 2026.

OCP signed a partnership with the Ministry of Industry, the National Defense Administration and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, alongside Lockheed Martin, Safran, Airbus and Boeing, to advance research and development in Morocco’s aviation and industrial sectors.

The Technical Center for Mechanical Industries and the ACME platform also agreed to establish the African Manufacturing Excellence Center with institutional and industrial partners.

Other deals include an agreement between the Ministry of Trade and Royal Air Maroc to increase the use of Moroccan-made products and services in the airline’s supply chain. A separate agreement with Safran Oil Systems aims to establish an industrial subsidiary in Morocco focused on aircraft engine lubrication and fluid management systems.

The Ministry of Trade and other government bodies also partnered with Harmattan AI on research, engineering, production, integration and testing for counter-drone technologies. The National Defense Administration and Harmattan AI signed a separate agreement to develop a Moroccan-made drone.

The eighth edition opened at the Royal Moroccan Air Force Base in Marrakech with nearly 200 exhibitors from 27 countries. This year’s themes include industrial sovereignty, resilient supply chains, advanced defense systems and AI.
