A delegation from Jordan’s University of Science and Technology visited Virginia to study US approaches to innovation and entrepreneurship in the agriculture and food sectors.
The study visit was organised by the International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX) and focused on how research and technology can help develop solutions to challenges facing both industries.
The delegation included representatives from several university faculties and centres. It visited Virginia Tech and Virginia State University, where members reviewed research and academic work in agricultural and food innovation, as well as ways to turn research into practical solutions.
Discussions also covered partnerships between universities, the private sector and organisations supporting innovation and entrepreneurship. The programme included specialised meetings, panel discussions and field visits addressing agricultural technologies, technology transfer, support for startups and the development of market-ready products.
According to the announcement, the visit forms part of the university’s efforts to strengthen its innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, expand international cooperation and build stronger links between scientific research and market needs.
