Dubai has announced Nad Zabeel, a research, development and innovation campus in Zabeel Park expected to bring together more than 30,000 scientists, researchers and entrepreneurs each year.
Launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the project will include laboratories, research centers, innovation incubators and facilities connecting universities, technology companies, investors, startups and government entities. Construction and related operations are expected to be completed within five years under the supervision of the Dubai Future Foundation.
The campus will focus on artificial intelligence, robotics, advanced technology, urban technology, and health and environmental technologies. It is also designed to link scientific research with investment, commercialization and future regulation, with accelerator and incubator programs supporting companies seeking funding and growth.
Nad Zabeel will form part of Dubai’s Research, Development and Innovation Ecosystem, which brings public and private initiatives under a unified framework. The wider program targets an annual GDP contribution of $5.45 billion by 2033, 120,000 jobs and 600 startups, supported by $204 million in funding over three years.
According to the announcement, the campus will support Dubai’s efforts to attract specialized talent and investment while moving research into commercial applications.
